Wood Manufacturing in Central Africa

The Congo Basin spans over 178 million hectares, making it the second-largest contiguous rainforest globally. Despite its abundant resources, it remains on the fringes of the international wood market; more than 80% of its timber is exported as logs or undergoes minimal processing, with limited secondary or tertiary wood manufacturing. Developing advanced woodworking industries can greatly enhance economic growth, foster development, and help combat poverty-related tree thefts, which contribute to deforestation.

At Green GEALL, our mission is to expand wood manufacturing across sub-Saharan Africa to harness both economic opportunities and ecological sustainability.
